General comments
Geen behandeling tenzij ernstige infectie.
Shigellosis bij immuungecompromitteerden, waaronder personen met een HIV infectie, altijd behandelen. De geadviseerde behandelduur bij gebruik ciprofloxacine is in dit geval 7 dagen.
Meldingsplichtige ziekte groep B2.
Antibioticakeuze op geleide van antibiogram (mede gezien de toenemende resistentie).
