Op basis van huidig bewijs is vaccinatie en antibiotische profylaxe niet zinvol na embolisatie van de milt artrie.
Immunologische functie van de milt verschilt niet echt significant van de gezonde controle patienten. Groot prospectief onderzoek gaat nog plaatsvinden.
